Program Features

Overview
Kindergarten is one of the primary building blocks of your child’s future. At Bravo we realize the importance of education and we have the tools to give your child a head start. Our small classes of only 12 children as well as our reading focused curriculum ensures that your child will be successful in their future schooling.

Small Class Size
Small class size of only 12 students to ensure your child gets individual attention and teaching.  Classes are 2 hours and 15 minutes, Monday-Thursday.

Academic Learning
Our kindergarten is a private school program where the focus is on academics and musical growth. Your child should have already completed basic skills such as name writing, letter recognition, most letter sounds, as well as being able to separate without tears from their parent(s) and socialize easily with other children. Ideally your child would also have a music foundation of note names, basic rhythms, instrument recognition, etc. (our 4 year old preschool classes cover this). The goal of our kindergarten is to get your child reading, advance their math skills, increase their musical knowledge (helps advance academic learning) and give them an strong foundation upon which to build in all areas.

Our kindergarten exceeds the requirements for the state of Utah and your child will be accepted into your public school 1st grade program (Utah requires your child must be 6 by Sept 1 the year they enter 1st grade).  Bravo uses a program called High Reach Learning that is nationally certified. This certification requires much more than the Utah Kindergarten Standards. Our teachers also add our school specialty of music, weekly homework packets and the “Sam” reading books (used in most Utah public schools). With the combination of a great program and additional Bravo specialties it is clear that our graduates are ahead when they start 1st grade. Towards the end of the school year we will ask you where to send your kindergarten records to so the public school you are joining will have information on the advanced skills of your child.

Music And Sign Language Bonus
In addition to our high standards in academics, we incorporate music and sign language daily. Graduates of Bravo will learn over 100 signs. Musically we learn about 2 composers each year, play on dozens of instruments, learn piano note names, rhythms and even perform on the piano at graduation!

Special Events
In addition to our 3 parent days. We also have many special events throughout the year.  Here are some examples from past school years: Halloween Carnival, Field Trips, Etiquette Lunch, Dr. Suess Day, Cooking Class, Meet A Fire Fighter and more!

Parent Involvement And Feedback
We have an open door policy for parents, please come anytime. You can also sign up for a parent teacher conference as often as you wish. Parents will need to help their child with weekly homework AND nightly reading to ensure your child gets the most from their experience. This is exactly the same requirement you would have in public school. We also have hands on take-home packs to help parents stay involved in the learning.

Make Up Classes
We want you to get your full value from the tuition you pay. If your child is sick call us before the class begins and you can use your make up on another day. You can even use your make up to do tumbling, art, karate, etc.

Add On Dance Or Tumble Class
Your kindergartener will stay after or come early one day per week for an hour. This add-on has all the fun without parents having to make an extra trip!

Facility
Our school facility is awesome. We get to use a dance studio for activities on rainy days, have a computer lab and even kid size toilets!

School Look And Feel

Extended Care Kindergarten
If your child needs extended care before or after Bravo Private Kindergarten you can do so for a discounted price (Clearfield location only). This gives you 48 hours each week for your child to be at Bravo. We also include meals, snacks, special events and additional educational activities such as writing practice, computer time, reading, science projects and more.  Visit our daycare page for more information and pricing for extended care.

Early Kindergarten (age 5 by December 31)
If your child will be 5 years by December 31 they may be eligible to use our kindergarten class as an “Early Kindergarten.”  We can evaluate your child for $20 and consider accepting your child early.  Utah requires a child to be age 5 by September 1 to use our private kindergarten to replace public kindergarten.  (Extended daycare for kindergarten students is only available to children age 5 years and older, as the state childcare regulates strictly by birthday, not ability.)  Call us at 801-621-6683 or email us to schedule an evaluation for your child.

Tuition
Kindergarten classes are held Monday-Thursday for 2 hours and 15 minutes. There is a $40 materials school fee per child per year (plus $25 registration fee for new students). You can receive a 3% tuition discount for auto pay from a checking account.  Kindergarten tuition at Bravo is like all private school tuition, there is a set tuition for the entire year.  However, for your convenience we divide it into 10 equal payments (automatic payments charged August 1-May 1), there is not a per day or week payment amount.  Monthly tuition is $160.
