It’s that time of year where we can finally spend more time outside which means we can say “Yes” to those fun messy outside activities that we have been saying “No” to all winter long! Every kid seems to find their way into a mess easy enough, but here is a fun list of new ideas to try this summer:
Squirt Gun Painting
Instead of regular painting on an easel, why not fill a water gun with liquid watercolors and let them squirt a masterpiece! What kid would not love combining art with a little bit of adventure?
Shaving Cream Slip N Slide
As a kid, I am sure we all experienced the slip n slide! Most of us probably just experienced it with water, why not take it to the next level and add shaving cream! Instead of running the hose (Bonus: Save Water!) Simply grab a few cans of shaving cream and spray them on the slip n slide. Let the kids have some slippery fun!
Glow in the Dark Sidewalk Chalk
Sidewalk chalk is a summer staple! When you combine it with something that can glow in the dark, what’s not to love? I found a recipe for a great glow in the dark sidewalk that will leave kids excited and entertained for hours.
Edible Ooey Gooey Worms
Squish Gooey worms in mud? Edible? Why not! Sensory messy fun! All you need is a pack of linguine noodles (worms), 2 boxes of pudding (mud) and a pan to put in all in! Cook the noodles and make the pudding according to directions and put everything into the pan. Let the kids dig in!
Summer is the perfect time to get outside and make a “mess”! Let us know if you tried any of these activities and how you liked them.
